About the event

The Exposure Hub is excited to present Dr. Sonja Hollins-Alexander, an esteemed leader in education and publishing, as the featured speaker for its upcoming Women's History Month event. With over three decades of experience in the field, Sonja brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role as the associate vice president, content advisor, and scholar for Corwin Publishing.

Sonja's impressive career spans various roles in educational leadership, including positions as a school social worker, teacher, assistant principal, principal, coordinator, director of professional learning, and chief of staff in Metro Atlanta, Georgia, school districts. Her dedication to education extends beyond K–12, as she has also served as a senior consultant for professional development firms and independently.

Throughout her career, Sonja has made significant contributions to strategic planning, policy development, stakeholder communication and engagement, instructional and curriculum design, adult learning strategy facilitation, executive leadership coaching, and conference facilitation and design. She has also been actively involved in nonprofit boards, including serving as the board president for Learning Forward Georgia and as a member of the National Affiliate Leadership Council for Learning Forward.

As an author and coauthor, Sonja has penned influential works such as "Online Professional Development Through Virtual Learning Communities" and "Collective Equity," published by Corwin. Her academic journey is marked by a commitment to continuous learning, earning degrees in psychology, social work, educational administration and leadership, and curriculum and instruction.

Sonja's passion lies in fostering partner engagement and implementing evidence-informed sustained professional learning services to positively impact teaching and learning outcomes. Sonja's enlightening presence will undoubtedly inspire and empower the audience with her insights and experiences in education and publishing.

Sonja holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s degree in social work, a teaching certificate in middle grades language arts, a specialist’s degree in educational administration and leadership, and a doctorate degree in curriculum and instruction.
